When Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing near, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home --John 19:26–27, RSV2CE
Men of Mary are:
- We are adopted into SONSHIP with the Father through our Baptism and made BROTHERS of Christ.
- We are REDEEMED by Christ through His suffering, death, and resurrection.
- We are GUIDED by the Holy Spirit, who overshadowed the virgin Mary at the Annunciation (Luke 1:35). Before He died on the cross Jesus gave us His mother (John 19:26-27). Mary guided by the Holy Spirit will guide us and always lead us to Jesus (John 2:1-12)
To Jesus, through Mary, we are led by the Holy Spirit to serve like Christ, who suffered and died for us to save us from sin and death!
Pillars:
- We live Liturgically, regularly participating in the Sacramental life of the Catholic Church:
- Especially the celebration of the Mass and frequent reception of the Eucharist in a state of grace
- Regularly take advantage of the Sacrament of Reconciliation (recommended at least once a month).
- We spend time in Daily Prayer and Spiritual Study:
- Devotion to the Blessed Mother, our Spiritual mother, including a daily rosary.
- Daily Prayer / Spiritual Reading (15 minutes minimum each day - in addition to time spent praying the Rosary)
- We make gifts of sacrificial service:
- Loving service to others as a gift of self-according to our state in life and our God-given gifts and abilities.
MenofMary.org asks that you specifically pray for:
- Priests and the Priesthood: For protection from evil, for wisdom, for faithfulness, for loving-servant-leadership. For fatherhood.
- For protection of the vulnerable: especially women, children, and the unborn.
- For men to be to be transformed by the Holy Spirit (Romans 12) and always defend and protect the dignity of women in our hearts and actions.
